My Dear Melancholy,

WONDERFUL NEWS!!!!

A new report from Birth.Movies.Death suggests that Civil War is testing well with audiences. Really well. Like unreasonably well. In the words of the website, the upcoming Marvel Phase 3 film is testing “through the roof.” To put all of this into perspective, the report indicates that audiences have rated Civil War as good as, if not better than, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Considering that The Winter Soldier is widely considered the best solo Marvel movie to date, that’s some pretty high praise. Perhaps the most important revelation from this story is the fact that Civil War apparently doesn't hold back anything during it’s third act, leading us to believe that we should be ready for an emotional roller coaster -- now we’re just taking bets as to who will survive.

the film has been testing exceptionally well. I have talked to a whole bunch of sources - about five at this point - and they all agree that test audiences have loved the movie. In fact, the only thing they disagree on is whether the movie tested as well as or better than Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which had previously been the best-testing Marvel movie. Further, my sources tell me that the movie doesn't pull any punches in the third act, and that if Marvel execs had been concerned about the film going dark places, these stellar test screenings have alleviated all those fears. So if the test screening audiences are right we're looking at a movie at least as good as Winter Soldier, which could be argued as the best Marvel movie yet.

Thala na Gethu!

Good news. Winter Soldier was arguably the best Marvel film imo.

Iron Man 3 & Thor: The Dark World were thoroughly underwhelming films. Needless to say, underperformed at least in my country.

Credit goes to the writer-director duo. Definetly lookin forward to Civil War.

Though I'd suggest the team to not over-hype the film which would ultimately result in unnecesarry disappointments. Classic examples bein Godzilla (2014) & Force Awakens

A good film is a promotion by itself-Ajith Kumar (my fav celeb)

That's good to hear, kind of got me worried about the trailer with Cap and Bucky double teaming IM. Death has to be part of Civil war to make it mean anything.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

I still hope that's explained in some way like Tony being at 3% power or some s***, from what we've seen in the MCU from him he wins that.

But yeah I'd be worried if it wasn't better than Winter Soldier it's a pretty huge event within the universe, although it could definitely be cocked up with the sheer amount of characters, especially the new ones that haven't had any character building like Black Panther.

I'm most excited to see what they do with Spider Man since it's obviously going to have to be very different to the comics, he played a massive role in Civil War but the role he plays there can't really work in the MCU since this will be his first appearance...

It's kinda funny imagining all this s*** going on and they have no f***ing clue Thanos will be coming to f*** their s*** up like yeah, keep killing each other fools...

Seriously dude? That's still your biggest complain?

Black Panther needs build-up? Why? He's going to get his own movie.

Yet he'll probably be on Stark's side anyways. A shame Pete decided to go with Iron Man instead of Cap. Given all the mistakes he's made, I'm surprised people still consider him a hero. Not even Hulk caused as much damage at any point as Iron Man.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Nah it was because the people testing New Coke were given small portion sizes. When real customers drank full cans then it was too sweet.

I don't think that can happen with a movie though, unless they're just shown like a fifth or something.
Also Coke is sweet?

Just remember that New Coke also tested very well.
And despite that, it was a huge failure.

That was my point. Tests like these can be misleading.

My Dear Melancholy,

Eh movie test are normally accurate especially when posted online. Example being F4 refused to post test results and the cast didn't see the movie until the movie came out legally.

What other complaint should I have? Seems a solid movie other than that if there's no explanation.

Yeah but currently we know barely anything about him other than he's most likely not going to die.

Not like he created Ultron on purpose though is it? Riling up the Extremis dudes was stupid though. His mind is still a huge benefit to the world.

In any case that just gives Iron Man more of a reason to have the view he does, people with such power have to answer to someone. He knows the damage that can be done even by his own hands.
